Christmas, Cows and Carols

Christmas has always been a special time. It seems that the older I get the more I remember and the more smiles the memories bring to my face. My mom and dad always made sure that my brother and I had a nice Christmas with one big present and then a few small ones. The big one was usually a bike or something cool like that and then special smaller surprises we wished for all year long. After we opened our presents in the wee hours of the morning we bundled up and headed out to do chores. Cows always seem to be the center of everything we do, even if it is a holiday. I have wonderful memories of riding with dad in the truck , heater on full blast and feeding cows all the while listening to Christmas carols on the radio and drinking cocoa.

Not much has changed, cows and our ranch are still the heart beat of what we do. This morning I bundled up , grabbed a coffee and headed to the ranch to feed, all the while listening to Christmas carols on the radio. I thought a lot about Christmas past and my dad and the love he had for us and our ranch. He instilled so much dang good stuff into us. The simplicity of a Christmas that brought us so much joy and the love for our ranch and the cows.

So Very Blessed

Merry Christmas Friends - May all of your Christmas wishes come true.
