Angels Among Us
I couldn’t keep my special gift quiet. I just had to share it and show it off to everyone who follows along. Yesterday while finishing up a Special Sale at Turlock Livestock Auction Yard a lovely lady who has become so special to me came up and said she had something in her truck for me. For those that know me know I love treats and surprises so I was thrilled to follow her to find out what I was about to receive. THIS ! This beautiful hand made cross, created by her late husband and saved for “ someone special.” That lucky someone was me ! Isn’t it lovely? I could not wait to make the drive back home and put it in my office along with my other treasured keepsakes. My golden bull from my time on the American Jr Hereford Association, numerous buckles won throughout my career showing cattle, photos of special people and piles of awards and honors I have been blessed to be honored with throughout my life. All the special things, right in one spot !
I don’t use my blog platform as much as I probably should , I only like to use it when I have something really good to share or a story worth telling. THIS was a story worth telling. A special lady whom I met through my livestock marketing travels, who follows my page and takes in all the good stuff I share. She is so dang complimentary of the work that I do and the place I am trying to create within my industry. She notices and she is not afraid to express her appreciation. Her kindness when I think on it too much gets me teary eyed. It is so dang special to me.
I meet a lot of people, I try my best to work hard and provide value to those that I meet. I enjoy people and I really enjoy sharing the story of our beef industry and fellow ranchers. I have you all in mind when I am asked to present to a group or help with marketing your cattle whether it be through a bull sale or livestock market. When people reach back out and appreciate my work it makes me feel so good, so special, so valued. It makes my purpose all that more clear.
I am not embarrassed to say that through the years I have struggled wondering what my purpose was, does my work matter, what do I need to be doing to get ahead and make a name for myself. Life is tough, this business is tough and gosh darn it seems like it is getting tougher. But you know what? I LOVE this business and even above that I LOVE the people in this business that I get to work with and represent.
This is a shoutout to all of you who have made me feel special and valued doing what I do. I am so incredibly thankful for each and every one of you. And today especially thankful for my friend who thought enough to gift me this amazing token of love from her dear husband. Elnora, I will treasure this more than you will ever know. Your unwavering support of me and what I do is so very much appreciated. I love you lady!
Who is special to you ? Who makes your heart sing with appreciation? Be sure to tell them today!
Lots of love to all of you who follow my journey ~ couldn’t do this gig without you !
